I have been in the field of education for fifteen years, beginning my journey as an elementary school teacher. Over the years, I’ve served in both public schools and a charter network, taking on roles as an instructional coach and principal. Through these experiences, I noticed a troubling trend—many primary students were entering school with significant gaps in math and reading due to a range of challenges. Statistics continue to show that building a strong academic foundation early in life is key to long-term success in school and beyond.

Rebuilding my community through education is deeply personal to me. As a child, I fell behind academically due to life circumstances that were out of my control. I know firsthand how transformational knowledge can be—it can truly change the course of a child’s life. That belief fuels my work every day as I strive to provide educational opportunities for children facing similar challenges.

One of my favorite personal quotes is: "Don’t limit yourself, expand your mind and make a difference." To me, this means that no matter what life throws your way or what barriers you face, there is always a path forward if you’re willing to think outside the box and pursue your greatest aspirations.
